This location is my fave.
Ok, so Mili isn’t a Senior yet, but we totally used my favorite location in Norman for her 16th birthday session this past weekend. Isn’t she just stunning???
I will be forever grateful that my sister introduced me to this location probably 10 years ago, and I have used it so many times since then.
So what makes this location so great? SOOOO MANY THINGS.
So what makes this location so great???
- Variety | There are 10-12 spots I use all within this one location. Every spot has a different vibe, different colors, a different look. Brick walls, graffiti, wooden plank walls, old historical buildings, empty streets, huge murals, staircases, etc.
- Easy Access | There are 2 easily accessible parking lots that are right behind my secret spot. All locations are within a one block radius, and an easy walk to and from the car. This location also sits in the heart of downtown Norman next to some of my favorite restaurants and shops - like Syrup, Guestroom Records, Victoria’s Pasta Shop, and Bison Whiches. So plan to go grab a bite to eat when you’re done with your session.
- Color | While I love neutral colors - which this location has - it also has areas of bright, vibrant color. This can add so much variety in a senior session. Neutrals are great for timeless, classic portraits, BUT bold, vivid colors can showcase your personality in such a fun way. I love that in this set of photos, Mili is wearing something neutral because it doesn’t compete with the bright background. I strategically placed her in the photo so that the focus of each image remains on her. The background becomes a complement to her, not a distraction.
- Lighting | Good light is one of the most important ingredients in photography, and this location has it!!!! If you’ve been with me when I find good light at a session, you know how I geek about it.
I am always on the lookout for awesome locations - but this one will always rank among my top picks.
